Various Pans for the Kitchen
With so many different types of pans of the market, it is sometimes difficult to know which pans are the best and which pan to use what for. There are certainly the basics, and the obvious, like bread pans, which double as a meatloaf pan, or a muffin tin or even the old standby lasagna pan, which can be glass or metal and be used for just about any type of baking.
As we get older our kitchens may even incorporate such fun Pfannen and extravagant pans as a bunt pan, a theme pan (such as a cartoon character or superhero), or even a cheesecake pan. The cheesecake pan is the tricky one. This is the two part pan that looks a whole lot more confusing than it is. At the point we have these pan we may notice that our collection of pans no longer fits in the little pan drawer to which it was originally assigned. At this point it's probably best to go back to the old tried and true pans. The necessities include: a pan to boil in, a frying pan, a baking sheet and a baking pan. These pans obviously come in all shapes, sizes, colors and some even have a Teflon coating. The important thing to remember is what exactly you will be cooking and from there picking the pan should be a snap. When it comes to Teflon, however, I am a big fan. There is nothing worse than cleaning the remains of scrambles eggs of a pan that is not coated with Teflon or some other non stick agent. It can truly be a nightmare. Make sure though, if you do choose Teflon to always use a non metal spoon or utensil to stir with. The only thing worse than messy left over eggs is a scratched Teflon pan!
Another good trick is to take some time to go through the pots and pans you have know. Toss out the dinged up ones, or the darkened ones, or the ones you swear you'll use but never do. Replace them with sturdy pans that will definitely help produce the world's best chocolate chip cookie, or everyone's favorite meatloaf. When considering new pans sometimes it's worth it to spend just a little extra money. They will likely last a little longer and be less likely to darken or dent as easily as the cheaper pans do. Spend the extra on the pans you use most and save on the ones that will likely collect dust in the back of the cabinet.
Also remember that many types of pans for the kitchen can be found at discount stores or outlets Olivenöle. Some of them may even be discontinued, therefore making for a great deal.
If you start to get overwhelmed go back to the basics and remind yourself which pans you use most, which are worth paying a little for, and which ones you have for a once a year occasion. Different pan can be a fun way to try out new and exciting recipes and theme pans can be a great way to involve little ones into the world of cooking!
