You can also carry a standalone device that allows you to charge up the backup battery while you shoot for another. You can also have a power belt or even an external power pack. The belt allows you to shoot videos for hours and through it you can also attach audio mixers, wireless mike kits and power portable lights.  
Another power option for filming a good night out on the camcorder is the usage of AC power and in this case you need to make sure that the extension cables and your precious power source don’t get disconnected.  

Capturing audio in an outside location can be tough and you firstly need to invest in a fine pair of headphones that can be attached to the camera. An external microphone is needed for capturing sounds perfectly. A video monitor makes your work easier and you can perfectly adjust focus or have some good zooming. Mostly camcorders are provided with an analog and S-video out connectors and you can run the appropriate cables from the camcorder to the monitor so as to see exactly what is being captured by your camcorder.
